Organizational Context

UN Women's Strategic Partnership Division, through the WEPs and Global Supply Chain Coalition (GSCC), engages the private sector to advance gender equality. This role supports the GSCC's communication strategy, aiming to increase visibility and engagement with members and external audiences on gender-responsive supply chains.

Job Purpose

The Communication Consultant will strengthen the communication strategies for the WEPs and GSCC initiatives, amplifying key messages and increasing visibility for high-profile events. The role focuses on elevating messages, engaging a wider audience through strategic social media management, and enhancing the reach and impact of all content to encourage greater participation in gender equality efforts within supply chains.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement the GSCC communication and outreach strategy, including strengthening visual identity, updating the communications plan, and monitoring trends. Produce and manage engaging content for newsletters, social media, and websites, maintaining a content calendar and updating web pages. Ensure consistent branding and visual identity aligned with WEPs and UN Women standards. Support the planning and execution of communications for GSCC events and campaigns. Document and showcase member achievements, case studies, and impact stories through various multimedia content, supporting knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Work Experience

Requires at least two years of professional experience in public relations, communications, or advocacy. Proficiency with MS Office 365, databases, web-based management systems, and Canva is essential. Experience with SEO, web analytics, media relations, women's rights, or the UN system is desirable.

Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication, sensitive and effective communication with stakeholders, IT proficiency (databases, office software, web content management systems), social media outreach, data analysis (website analytics), proactive and strategic approach.
