Organizational Context

UN Women in Bosnia and Herzegovina is implementing a project focused on a just and inclusive green transition, funded by Sweden. This initiative aims to strengthen gender-responsive approaches to energy poverty, enhance women's capacities in climate resilience and green jobs, and promote their participation in local energy and climate planning. The role supports these objectives by leading gender-responsive green skills and capacity development activities.

Job Purpose

This consultancy provides technical leadership for designing, preparing, and delivering a gender-responsive green skills and capacity development program for women. The program aims to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence to participate in and benefit from the green transition. It will address climate resilience, energy poverty, sustainable practices, and women's engagement in local climate and energy governance, informed by evidence and stakeholder input. The role also contributes technical expertise to stakeholder dialogues and municipal engagement activities.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, preparation, and delivery of a gender-responsive capacity development program, including curriculum, learning methodology, and materials. Develop facilitator guides, session plans, and participant learning resources. Design and deliver technical content on climate resilience, green job skills, environmental sustainability, and community health, integrating gender equality and social inclusion. Facilitate capacity development workshops using participatory approaches. Assess participant learning and prepare a summary report with key results and recommendations. Contribute technical expertise to stakeholder dialogues on energy poverty, co-facilitate these dialogues, and identify learning needs. Provide technical input on capacity development and participatory learning to municipal engagement activities, supporting women's participation in local energy and climate planning.

Work Experience

Requires a minimum of five years of experience in designing and implementing adult capacity development programs, including curriculum and material development. Additionally, a minimum of three years of experience in climate resilience, sustainable energy practices, or green skills is needed. Five years of experience in delivering inclusive capacity development programs with a focus on gender equality and social inclusion, and engagement with various stakeholders, is also essential.
