Job Purpose
This role supports UN Women Afghanistan's efforts to prevent sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment (SEA/SH) among its personnel, partners, and contractors. The consultant will provide technical and operational support to strengthen prevention, reporting, and response mechanisms. By conducting capacity assessments, developing training materials, and facilitating workshops, the role aims to enhance the understanding and implementation of SEA/SH policies, ensuring a safe and respectful working environment in line with UN standards and the 'do no harm' principle.
Responsibilities
Conduct external PSEA capacity assessments for UN Women's implementing and responsible partners, evaluating their policies against eight standards and providing tailored recommendations for improvement. Facilitate PSEA capacity development activities for partners and UN Women personnel, including adapting training materials, co-organizing briefing sessions, and delivering trainings on core principles and reporting channels. Support the development and implementation of PSEA capacity-building plans and maintain training records. Assist in conducting SEA/GBV risk assessments across UN Women programmes and partnerships, mapping existing mechanisms, identifying gaps, and supporting capacity-building efforts in line with survivor-centered principles.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of professional experience in PSEA/SH, GBV prevention, gender mainstreaming, humanitarian affairs, or related fields. Demonstrated experience in facilitating capacity development activities and trainings is essential. Familiarity with global UN PSEA structures, policies, and tools is required, as is experience in conducting comprehensive partner capacity assessments on PSEA/SH.
