In Guatemala, UN Women supports the National Strategy for Conflict Resolution and Transformation, aiming to strengthen institutional capacities for coordinated, inclusive, and sustainable responses to conflict.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to develop a technical proposal to harmonize the National Strategy for Conflict Resolution and Transformation with the Conflict Resolution Guide. The purpose is to enhance methodological and operational coherence between these instruments, ensuring the transversal integration of gender equality, women's human rights, and interculturality principles. This will contribute to a more effective and unified approach to conflict prevention and transformation, aligning with the Women, Peace, and Security agenda.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop a work plan and methodology for the consultancy, including a timeline and technical criteria for harmonization analysis. Key responsibilities include conducting a comparative analysis of the National Strategy and the Conflict Resolution Guide to identify correspondences, gaps, and harmonization opportunities. The consultant will create a traceability matrix detailing recommended adjustments and their technical justification. In addition, they will formulate inputs and adjustment proposals to strengthen coherence, ensuring the cross-cutting inclusion of gender equality, women's human rights, and interculturality. The consultant will also systematize feedback from technical meetings, prepare a consolidated technical proposal, and participate in necessary review meetings.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in conflict resolution, peacebuilding, gender analysis, or policy harmonization is required. Experience working with national strategies, institutional frameworks, and inter-agency coordination is highly desirable. Previous experience with UN Women or other UN agencies is an asset.
