Resource Mobilisation Consultant
Organizational Context
UN Women's Multi-Country Office (MCO) in the Caribbean is developing a Resource Mobilization Strategy and Implementation Plan to align with its upcoming Strategic Notes and the UN Multi-Country Sustainable Development Framework. This initiative aims to enhance funding for gender equality and women's empowerment across 22 countries and territories in the English and Dutch-speaking Caribbean, addressing key challenges such as GBV, economic insecurity, and climate vulnerability.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to develop a comprehensive Resource Mobilization Strategy and Implementation Plan for UN Women's Multi-Country Office in the Caribbean. The consultant will analyze funding landscapes, identify new opportunities beyond traditional donors, and create targeted materials to support donor engagement. The goal is to strengthen UN Women's capacity to secure resources for advancing gender equality and women's empowerment across the region, aligning with strategic priorities and frameworks.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop an inception report, conduct a desk review of key UN Women and regional development documents, and perform a scoping and trend analysis of Official Development Assistance (ODA) and humanitarian assistance for gender equality in the Caribbean. Responsibilities include identifying funding opportunities from diverse sources such as private sector, foundations, and diaspora, and drafting the MCO Resource Mobilization and Implementation Plan. Additionally, the consultant will create seven targeted briefing notes and presentations for donor pitches on critical areas like ending violence against women, women's leadership, and gender-responsive financing.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in resource mobilization and business development is required, or 9 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience in gender equality and women's empowerment is desirable. Experience working with civil society, international institutions, donors, and within the UN system is also beneficial. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Excellent facilitation and communication skills, programme formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, in-depth knowledge of gender equality and women's rights, Results-Based Management, data gathering and interpretation, analytical and presentation skills, and proficiency in ICT solutions.
