Organizational Context
UN Women Myanmar Country Office implements projects focused on gender and climate resilience, and humanitarian action through the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF). The Programme Associate supports the development and implementation of these programmes, working closely with country office, regional, and HQ staff to ensure effective delivery and financial management.
Job Purpose
The Programme Associate provides essential operational, administrative, and programmatic support to the Programme Team in the UN Women Myanmar Country Office. This role is crucial for the effective development and implementation of programmes related to gender and climate resilience, and humanitarian assistance. The incumbent will contribute to research, financial management, and overall programme execution, collaborating with various UN Women entities to resolve complex issues and ensure alignment with UN Women rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative and logistical support for programme formulation and management, including work plans, budgets, and proposals. Offer technical guidance to implementing agencies on delivery and reporting, and assist with audits. Support financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, managing budget revisions, and processing payments. Undertake logistical, administrative, and financial arrangements for meetings, workshops, and missions, including travel. Assist in resource mobilization by preparing agreements and processing donor information. Facilitate knowledge building and sharing by supporting the synthesis of lessons learned and organizing training sessions.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support is required. Proficiency in computer environments with multiple office software packages and experience supporting a team are essential. Experience with modern web-based ERP systems like Oracle Cloud is desirable, as is prior work experience within the UN system.
