Job Purpose
The Information Management and Data Analysis Specialist will provide essential technical support to UN Women Ukraine's humanitarian portfolio. This role is crucial for enabling evidence-based programming, communications, and advocacy through effective secondary data planning, collection, processing, and analysis. The specialist will contribute gender-actionable insights to inform response prioritization, programme design, donor engagement, and advocacy efforts, ensuring that the needs and rights of women and girls are central to humanitarian action. The position also involves developing data visualizations and knowledge products to communicate findings and support capacity building within the country office.
Responsibilities
The Information Management and Data Analysis Specialist will be responsible for supporting secondary data planning, collection, processing, and analysis, including designing and implementing primary data collection as needed. This involves analyzing data from various humanitarian assessments, extracting and interpreting sex, age, and disability-disaggregated data, and identifying data gaps. The role includes translating complex data into gender-actionable insights to inform response prioritization and programme design. Additionally, the specialist will design and create data visualizations, infographics, and dashboards to communicate findings effectively to diverse audiences. Responsibilities also encompass developing data-driven knowledge products, providing technical advisory services for data quality assurance, and supporting capacity building in information management and data analysis. The role includes representing the Gender in Humanitarian Action Working Group in the Data Coordination Group and managing the humanitarian programme database.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in information management or data analysis is required. Demonstrated expertise in secondary data analysis methodologies, statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R), and data visualization skills are essential. Experience in data management, analysis, and sharing to support organizational learning, planning, and advocacy is also necessary. Experience with AI-assisted tools and producing knowledge products for diverse audiences is desirable.
