Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide specialized technical support to UN Women's projects and activities related to care systems. The consultant will contribute to strengthening capacities and developing public policies and comprehensive care systems. This role is crucial for advancing gender equality by addressing the unequal distribution of unpaid care work, which hinders women's economic empowerment and perpetuates gender inequalities. The consultant's work will support UN Women's global, regional, and national efforts to promote social and gender-based co-responsibility in care.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop technical inputs such as diagnoses, context analyses, and technical documents related to comprehensive care systems. They will generate proposals for the design of care-related policies and gather data for policy documents, concept notes, and presentations. Responsibilities include reviewing knowledge products on care, developing content and methodologies for training programs, and facilitating workshops for public officials, women, and civil society organizations. The consultant will also contribute to UN Women's advocacy and coordination strategies with public and civil society actors, providing technical and contextual inputs. Additionally, they will support the identification and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned to enhance project improvement and alignment with office work plans.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience is required in the design and analysis of care policies, programs, or models. Additionally, at least 5 years of work experience in designing and delivering workshops, training, or courses on care or other UN Women thematic priorities is necessary. Experience working with multiple relevant actors in the public, private, and international sectors related to care is also essential.
Skills
Gender mainstreaming and intersectionality, pedagogical skills, excellent communication and writing in Spanish and English, strong teamwork, and innovative thinking.
