Organizational Context

AWLN Côte d'Ivoire implements the Women in Value Chain Initiative (WIN) project to reduce material constraints limiting rural women's productivity and income in agricultural value chains. The project supports three women-led cooperatives with access to appropriate processing equipment, focusing on their appropriation and utilization. This consultancy will coordinate the WIN project's technical, operational, and communication aspects.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this consultancy is to ensure effective, inclusive, documented, and results-oriented coordination of the WIN project implementation. The role contributes to the economic empowerment of beneficiary rural women by facilitating secure and sustainable access to appropriate processing equipment. The consultant will oversee project activities, ensure beneficiary inclusion, manage technical documentation for equipment acquisition, and produce timely monitoring and reporting deliverables, aligning capacity-building with equipment deployment.

Responsibilities

The consultant will prepare key project initiation documents, including a work plan, results framework, stakeholder map, risk register, monitoring tools, and communication plan. Responsibilities include supporting the transparent identification, assessment, selection, and engagement of three women-led cooperatives. The consultant will conduct needs assessments, prepare technical specifications for processing equipment, and provide technical support for offer evaluation and equipment reception. They will coordinate capacity-building activities with partners, implement regular monitoring, collect project data, conduct field visits, identify implementation risks, and propose corrective actions. Additionally, the consultant will manage project communication and visibility, and prepare monthly reports, mid-term notes, equipment transfer documentation, and a final closure report.

Work Experience

A minimum of four years of professional experience in strategic planning or organizing events related to economic and social development is required for Bachelor's degree holders (or two years for Master's holders). Proven experience in agriculture, agro-processing, agricultural value chains, women's entrepreneurship, economic empowerment of women, or rural development is necessary. Experience in activity planning, monitoring, data collection, report writing, workshop organization, or field support is needed. Experience with needs assessments, technical specifications, service monitoring, or equipment reception is an asset.
