Organizational Context
UN Women Philippines supports critical agencies in aligning mandates with global standards for gender equality and women's empowerment. The role supports the joint programme Zero Hunger Accelerator (JP ZHA), funded by the Joint SDG Fund, aiming to strengthen inclusive, climate-resilient food systems through innovative financing and local partnerships. The consultant will report to the Planning, Coordination and Programme Analyst.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide crucial coordination and communications support for UN Women's initiatives in the Philippines, particularly the joint programme Zero Hunger Accelerator (JP ZHA). The role will facilitate inter-agency and stakeholder engagement, ensuring coherence and effective collaboration across various partners and consultants involved in JP ZHA and other UN Women projects. The consultant will assist in developing and implementing communication strategies, creating strategic materials, and tracking progress to enhance UN Women's visibility and impact in advancing gender equality and food system transformation.
Responsibilities
Support inter-agency coordination and stakeholder engagement, including attending meetings and tracking follow-up actions to ensure alignment with UN Women's contributions. Provide coordination support to external partners and consultants involved in the JP ZHA and other UN Women initiatives, fostering coherence and synergy. Assist in planning, preparing, and rolling out communications and advocacy strategies to ensure consistent messaging and visibility. Develop briefs, reports, presentations, and visual materials to synthesize key insights and strategically position UN Women. Track progress of coordination and communications activities, document lessons learned, and recommend adjustments for improved effectiveness. The consultant will submit monthly progress reports detailing completed work and deliverables.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressive work experience in inter-agency/stakeholder coordination, programme coordination, or communications and advocacy is required. Experience in gender equality and development issues within the Philippines context is essential. Experience in preparing analytical reports, policy briefs, and visual communication materials, as well as managing social media content, is also required. Familiarity with the UN system and inter-agency coordination processes is desirable.
