The Country Gender Equality Profile (CGEP) 2026, developed with partners, assesses progress, gaps, and emerging issues in gender equality across various sectors. This role supports the finalization of the CGEP by ensuring its technical soundness, coherence, and national relevance.
Job Purpose
This role serves to ensure the quality and national relevance of the Viet Nam Country Gender Equality Profile (CGEP) 2026. The Team Leader will provide overall quality assurance for the report, conduct detailed technical reviews of key chapters (including gender equality analysis, human development, gender-based violence, and leadership), coordinate inputs from other national reviewers, and verify that all comments are appropriately addressed in the final draft. The ultimate goal is to support UN Women in producing a technically sound, evidence-based, and nationally appropriate CGEP that informs policy and development objectives.
Responsibilities
The Team Leader is responsible for the overall quality assurance of the Viet Nam Country Gender Equality Profile (CGEP) 2026. This includes conducting a detailed technical review of Chapters 1 (gender equality analysis and strategic priorities), 2 (human development), 3 (gender-based violence), and 6 (leadership and management). The role involves assessing the report's structure, analytical coherence, and balance, identifying gaps and inconsistencies, and ensuring alignment between findings, conclusions, and recommendations. The Team Leader will also verify the use of nationally appropriate data and information, and flag any material issues. Furthermore, the position requires coordinating inputs from other national reviewers, providing technical guidance, consolidating comments, and performing a final verification of the revised report to ensure all corrections are accurately incorporated and no new inconsistencies are introduced.
Work Experience
Requires at least 15 years of progressive professional experience in gender equality, governance, public policy, or women's leadership in Viet Nam. Demonstrated experience in leading quality assurance or technical review of major analytical reports is essential. Strong knowledge of Viet Nam's gender equality context, legal frameworks, and data sources is needed, along with experience coordinating experts and consolidating diverse inputs. Familiarity with international gender equality standards is also required.
