Organizational Context
UN Women in Viet Nam supports national development objectives aligned with the Socio-Economic Development Plan and National Strategy for Gender Equality. The Country Strategy Note 2022-2026 focuses on gender equality commitments and the 2030 Agenda. UN Women is collaborating with the Institute for Human, Family and Gender Study (VASS) to launch the Viet Nam Country Gender Equality Profile 2026, aiming to present findings, promote dialogue, and support policy development.
Job Purpose
This role supports the successful organization of the Viet Nam Country Gender Equality Profile (CGEP) 2026 launch event. The Conference Coordinator will act as the primary liaison between UN Women and the Institute for Human, Family and Gender Study (VASS), ensuring effective coordination and administrative, organizational, and logistical support. The objective is to facilitate a smooth and professional event, manage the government approval process, ensure accurate event materials, manage participants, and complete post-event documentation, contributing to the effective dissemination of the CGEP findings and recommendations.
Responsibilities
The Conference Coordinator will manage the entire lifecycle of the CGEP launch event. Key responsibilities include: facilitating inception meetings and developing detailed work plans; serving as the day-to-day liaison with VASS to navigate and secure government approval for the event, including preparing and tracking necessary documentation; coordinating with UN Women and VASS to refine the event agenda and identify/manage stakeholders and invitees; preparing and distributing invitations, managing RSVPs, and liaising with speakers for biographies and presentations; acting as the operational link between UN Women, VASS, the venue, and event service providers to manage logistics and event materials; and overseeing post-event activities such as reconciling attendance, compiling event reports, and documenting media coverage.
Work Experience
A minimum of five years of relevant experience in event coordination, project administration, conference organization, or stakeholder engagement is necessary, preferably with international organizations, government bodies, or academic institutions. Demonstrated experience in organizing high-level events and supporting government approval processes is essential. Experience with VASS or similar national institutions and familiarity with gender equality in Viet Nam are advantageous.
