The office implements initiatives like the EU-funded 'PROTECT' project, focusing on protecting women migrant workers from violence and exploitation in collaboration with ILO, UNODC, and UNICEF, with specific project implementation in Cambodia and Thailand. The Programme Associate supports the development and implementation of these vital programmes.
Job Purpose
The Programme Associate provides essential operational, administrative, and programmatic support to the UN Women Programme Team in the Asia and the Pacific Regional Office. This role is crucial for the effective development and implementation of programmes aligned with UN Women's mandate, particularly supporting initiatives like the 'PROTECT' project focused on women migrant workers. The associate contributes to research, financial management, and overall programme execution, working closely with regional and country office staff to ensure smooth operations and the achievement of project objectives in ending violence against women and promoting gender equality.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support for programme formulation and management. This includes assisting with work plans, budgets, and proposals, and offering technical guidance on delivery and reporting to executing agencies. The role involves preparing audit information, reviewing programme data for the website, and gathering information for various documents. Additionally, the associate supports financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, processing budget revisions, monitoring finances, preparing financial reports, and managing payments for consultants. They also handle logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and missions, including travel. Support for resource mobilization includes preparing agreements and processing donor information. Finally, the associate facilitates knowledge building by synthesizing lessons learned and best practices and supporting training initiatives.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in administration or programme management/support is required with a secondary education, or 3 years with a Bachelor's degree. Experience with computer environments and multiple office software packages, as well as experience supporting a team, are mandatory. Experience with a modern web-based ERP system, such as Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
