The Office of the Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight. This consultancy supports the Director's Office during a maternity leave, ensuring continuity in strategic planning, executive coordination, and operational management.
Job Purpose
This consultancy provides crucial executive coordination, operational management, and strategic planning support to the Office of the Director within UN Women's Strategic Partnerships Division. The role ensures the efficient functioning of the Director's office, facilitates cross-divisional collaboration, and supports the timely implementation of corporate and operational priorities. The incumbent will manage information flow, coordinate key meetings, prepare briefing materials, and oversee operational processes, contributing to the division's overall effectiveness and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include supporting the Director in strategic coordination and daily management of the office, acting as a primary liaison between the division and other UN Women units, and guiding colleagues on office processes. The role involves coordinating priority actions, implementing special projects, and scheduling divisional management meetings. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate divisional inputs for corporate planning, prepare briefing packages, and conduct background research. Operational support includes coordinating with the Business Center on budget and HR matters, facilitating recruitment processes, and liaising with corporate service providers. The consultant will also coordinate logistical preparations for senior management meetings and high-level events, including major UN conferences.
Work Experience
Requires at least 2 years of progressive experience in programme coordination, executive support, or supporting complex processes. Experience supporting senior management, coordinating diverse stakeholders in a fast-paced setting, managing high-level meetings/events, and handling operational/administrative/HR processes is essential. Prior experience within the UN system or UN Women is an asset.
