UN Women, through its Indonesia Country Office, hosts the ASEAN Liaison Office, supporting the advancement of the Women, Peace, and Security agenda. This role provides crucial coordination, operational, and administrative support to the UN Women Indonesia Country Office and Regional Office, liaising with ASEAN Sectoral Bodies and contributing to the UN's partnership with ASEAN in promoting gender equality.
Job Purpose
This role is designed to provide essential coordination, operational, and administrative support to the UN Women Indonesia Country Office and Regional Office, specifically concerning ASEAN-related initiatives. The consultant will facilitate the effective implementation of ASEAN-related projects by liaising with ASEAN Sectoral Bodies, managing communications, and supporting operational processes. The position contributes to strengthening the UN's partnership with ASEAN in advancing the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, ensuring gender equality is integrated into regional development and peacebuilding efforts.
Responsibilities
The consultant will be responsible for coordinating and liaising with ASEAN stakeholders, including supporting the preparation and dissemination of official communications and maintaining follow-up with ASEAN Sectoral Bodies. Key duties involve providing operational and administrative support for programme implementation, such as managing procurement, travel arrangements, financial processes, and consultant/supplier management. Additionally, the role includes ensuring proper documentation and filing of project materials and ASEAN coordination records. The consultant will also be tasked with knowledge management, documenting discussions and outcomes from meetings, and contributing to internal reporting. Other operational, financial, and administrative support as needed to facilitate ASEAN-related initiatives will also be provided.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in coordination, operations, finance, and administration or programme management/support is required. Proven experience supporting high-level consultative workshops for ASEAN government representatives, dialogue partners, institutions, and civil society organizations in Southeast Asia is essential. Experience in a multicultural team and proficiency with multiple office software packages are also required. Experience with high-level government officials in ASEAN and familiarity with Quantum and Unall are desirable.
