UN Women is the UN entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. Its Economic Empowerment section in Guatemala supports initiatives to enhance women's economic autonomy through programs focused on income generation, capacity building, and leadership. The unit also addresses the care economy, particularly in rural areas, to reduce gender inequalities and promote sustainable development.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to strengthen women's economic empowerment processes by providing technical assistance in territorial dialogue, capacity development, knowledge management, and cultural change. The role will enhance the capabilities of public institutions and civil society organizations to advance the care economy and foster partnerships for sustainable and inclusive development. The objective is to promote actions that recognize women's rights, integrate gender equality into local development, and increase awareness of shared care responsibilities.
Responsibilities
The consultant will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of assigned projects and initiatives within the Economic Empowerment area. This includes contributing to knowledge management and systematizing best practices, preparing necessary documentation, and following up on agreements with partners and donors. The role involves providing programmatic technical support to the coordination team and partners, facilitating effective information and knowledge management on women's rights and empowerment. Additionally, the consultant will coordinate operational and logistical processes, ensuring compliance with UN Women policies and procedures, and execute any other required activities within the scope of the consultancy.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience is required, with a significant portion focused on gender equality, women's economic empowerment, or the care economy. Experience in program management, technical assistance, and working with government institutions and civil society organizations is essential. Experience in Guatemala or similar contexts is desirable.
