UN Women, in its Morocco office, supports gender equality and women's rights. The "Dare to Care" program, funded by Sida, aims to transform patriarchal social norms and masculinities in the Arab States region, with a focus on Morocco, Egypt, Jordan, and Tunisia. This consultancy supports the program's objective to promote shared care responsibilities and women's economic empowerment.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to contextualize and adapt existing regional training tools on masculinities and social norms for the Moroccan context. The consultant will develop a comprehensive electronic training kit in Arabic, including facilitation guides, a glossary of concepts, and interactive exercises for youth. Additionally, the consultant will deliver two in-person capacity-building sessions for officials from the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication (MJCC) in Rabat, focusing on facilitating these training modules.
Responsibilities
The consultant will conduct a contextual analysis of existing Moroccan initiatives and policies related to gender and masculinities, identifying necessary adaptations for regional training tools. They will adapt these tools into Arabic, ensuring cultural relevance, participatory approaches, and suitability for youth. This includes developing a detailed facilitation guide, a glossary, and interactive exercises. The consultant will also prepare and deliver two-day training sessions for MJCC officials in Rabat and produce an evaluation report detailing participation, comprehension, and recommendations for future deployment. Coordination meetings with UN Women and MJCC are also required.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of experience in adult teaching and/or training is required. Experience in developing educational content, such as knowledge products, toolkits, or practical guides, is also necessary. Experience in promoting gender equality, positive masculinities, and engaging men and boys is considered an asset.
Skills
Strong analytical skills, effective communication, planning and prioritization, ability to work under tight deadlines, building constructive relationships, integrating feedback, positive and constructive attitude, and a deep understanding of the Moroccan context regarding gender and youth dynamics.
