Job Purpose
This internship aims to provide coordination support within the Office of the Deputy Executive Director (DEDO) at UN Women. The intern will contribute to advancing UN Women's normative, inter-agency, and programmatic priorities by supporting key workstreams. These include the Young Women and Girls Strategy, UN Women's Middle East response, follow-up to the IANWGE Strategic Leadership Group, and coordination of the Africa strategy. The role involves consolidating and tracking information, ensuring effective communication, and supporting the Deputy Executive Director's Office in managing these critical initiatives.
Responsibilities
The intern will provide coordination support across several key areas. For the Young Women and Girls Strategy, responsibilities include assisting with its review and finalization, compiling comments, and drafting a communications plan. For the UN Women Middle East Response, the intern will support internal coordination, track action points, and compile situation updates. In relation to the IANWGE Strategic Leadership Group, the intern will support follow-up on commitments, assist with finalizing Terms of Reference, and prepare for future engagements. For Africa Strategy Coordination, the intern will maintain a tracker between DEDO and the AU Liaison Office, and monitor key AU processes. Key deliverables include consolidated trackers, finalized documentation, and a handover note.
