Organizational Context

UN Women's Fiji Multi-Country Office (MCO) operates across 14 Pacific countries and territories, focusing on gender equality and the empowerment of women. The office implements four key programme areas, including Ending Violence Against Women and Girls (EVAWG). The EVAWG programme is substantial, with the Pacific Partnership to End Violence Against Women and Girls (Phase II) being a major initiative funded by Australia, the EU, and UN Women.

Job Purpose

The EVAWG Monitoring and Reporting Specialist will be responsible for integrating monitoring and reporting into the Pacific Partnership Phase II programme. This role involves tracking progress against programme targets and the Fiji MCO Strategic Plan, and reporting results to internal and external stakeholders. The specialist will collaborate closely with technical teams and M&E specialists to ensure successful programme implementation and alignment with UN Women's strategic objectives, contributing to the overall goal of promoting gender equality and preventing violence against women and girls in the Pacific.

Responsibilities

The Monitoring and Reporting Specialist will provide guidance on incorporating monitoring and reporting into programme formulation, managing the development of the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Framework (MELF) for the Pacific Partnership Programme Phase II. This includes quality assurance of results frameworks, developing monitoring indicators, and coordinating annual work plan monitoring and reporting. The role involves providing technical guidance and overseeing the tracking of results against country-level targets, ensuring data collection and analysis are conducted effectively. The specialist will also support programme evaluations, contribute to knowledge building by identifying and disseminating good practices, and manage capacity-building opportunities for staff and partners in Results-Based Management and Monitoring and Evaluation.

Work Experience

A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience (with a Master's degree) or 7 years (with a Bachelor's degree) in monitoring and reporting of development projects/programmes is required. Experience within the UN system is desirable. Proficiency in computer and office software packages, including spreadsheet and database management, and web-based management systems is essential. Experience with Oracle Cloud is desirable.
