Job Purpose
The Programme Associate for Political Participation plays a crucial role in supporting the effective implementation of UN Women Guatemala's projects and initiatives within the Governance and Political Participation area. This position ensures programmatic and operational support, contributing to the achievement of institutional results related to strengthening women's participation, leadership, and advocacy in governance, peacebuilding, and decision-making processes. The role involves close collaboration with the Programme Coordinator and other team members to ensure synergy between initiatives and alignment with the organization's strategic objectives and annual plans.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate provides essential administrative and programmatic support for program formulation and management. This includes assisting in the development of work plans, budgets, and proposals, and providing guidance to implementing partners on reporting. The role involves managing financial aspects such as creating projects in the system, reviewing budgets, and processing payments. Logistical support for meetings, workshops, and events, as well as travel arrangements for the Programme Team, are key duties. Additionally, the associate supports resource mobilization efforts by processing contributions and maintaining databases. Facilitating knowledge management through systematizing lessons learned and organizing training activities is also part of the responsibilities.
Work Experience
A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in administrative and operational management of programmes and projects is required. At least 1 year of experience specifically related to human rights and/or political participation is also mandatory. Experience in international cooperation or within the United Nations system is desirable. Proficiency in computer use and office software is necessary, with experience in web-based management systems being beneficial.
