Job Purpose
This role supports UN Women's strategy in Norte de Santander, Colombia, by strengthening local governance, protection mechanisms, and women's participation in peace and security initiatives. The Associate will provide technical and operational support for project implementation, ensuring timely and quality execution in programmatic, administrative, logistical, and financial aspects. The position aims to integrate gender and intersectional approaches into humanitarian responses, strengthen protection for women and girls in crisis, and promote gender-based violence prevention and response.
Responsibilities
Provide technical and operational support for UN Women's project portfolio in Norte de Santander, ensuring quality execution and integrating gender and intersectional approaches. Support data collection, systematization, and analysis for project indicators and reports. Monitor project activities, identifying risks and proposing corrective measures. Assist in designing and implementing territorial intervention strategies for gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and mitigation in peacebuilding and humanitarian contexts. Represent UN Women in coordination spaces, humanitarian mechanisms, and territorial platforms. Foster strategic alliances with public entities, private sector, UN agencies, and women's organizations. Provide technical assistance to promote the incorporation of women's rights and the Women, Peace, and Security agenda into territorial policies and mechanisms. Develop institutional and community tools for addressing GBV and human trafficking cases. Conduct labor market mapping for women in mobility to identify employment and entrepreneurship opportunities. Support women's organizations and networks in their participation and advocacy efforts.
Work Experience
Requires experience in gender, protection, and gender-based violence. Experience in supporting project implementation, coordination, and reporting is essential. Familiarity with humanitarian action, peacebuilding, and women's rights in Colombia is desirable.
