Job Purpose
The Gender Data Lab aims to enhance the production, accessibility, and utilization of reliable, disaggregated, and gender-specific data to inform public policies and measure inequalities, particularly in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This role is crucial for leveraging new data science technologies to improve the dissemination and analysis of statistical data, thereby strengthening evidence-based decision-making for gender equality and women's empowerment initiatives in Senegal.
Responsibilities
The Statistician Demographer will contribute to the design and implementation of the Gender Data Lab by structuring, documenting, harmonizing, and valorizing gender-related data and indicators. Key duties include conducting a diagnostic of available gender data within the national statistical system, identifying and documenting priority gender indicators, and harmonizing data from various sources. The role involves developing metadata and a data dictionary for the platform, contributing to the functional design of dashboards, and ensuring the statistical validation of integrated data. Additionally, the incumbent will participate in developing the knowledge base for an AI chatbot, contribute to user capacity building, and collaborate closely with data scientists, web developers, database managers, and ANSD technical departments.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in statistics, demography, or statistical data management and analysis is required. Experience in processing and analyzing data from censuses or statistical surveys is essential. Familiarity with gender statistics, development indicators, and SDG monitoring frameworks is also necessary.

Coordination and teamwork, statistical and demographic analysis, data production/management/documentation, national statistical system knowledge, gender statistics and SDG frameworks, statistical software proficiency (R, Stata, SPSS, Python), data rigor and organization, multitasking.
