UN Women supports the National Agency for Statistics and Demographics (ANSD) in Senegal to establish an innovative Gender Data Lab. This platform will centralize, analyze, and disseminate gender-specific statistics using modern visualization, analysis, and artificial intelligence tools. The Web Developer/Full Stack will be seconded to ANSD to provide technical expertise for its implementation.
Job Purpose
The Web Developer/Full Stack will be responsible for the technical implementation of the Gender Data Lab at ANSD, Senegal. This role is crucial for enhancing the availability, accessibility, and utilization of gender statistics, thereby supporting evidence-based policymaking and gender equality initiatives aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The position will leverage data science, interactive visualization, and AI to improve the dissemination and analysis of vital gender data.
Responsibilities
The Web Developer/Full Stack will design, develop, deploy, and maintain the Gender Data Lab web platform. Key duties include developing user interfaces for data consultation and analysis, creating APIs for platform component communication, and integrating interactive dashboards and visualization tools. The role also involves integrating an AI chatbot, implementing user authentication and access control, and developing administrative functionalities. Ensuring platform performance, security, and robustness, participating in technical documentation and testing, and providing corrective and evolutive maintenance are also essential. Collaboration with project experts to ensure technical coherence is required.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in web application development and digital platforms is required. Experience in designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining production web applications is essential. Prior experience with data platforms, decision-support dashboards, or AI-integrated applications is highly desirable.
