Organizational Context
UN Women in Armenia works to advance the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda by promoting women's participation in peace and security processes. The office supports the Government of Armenia in implementing National Action Plans for UN Security Council Resolutions on WPS and achieving SDG targets. This role supports the biannual workplan (2026-2027) and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) 2026-2030.
Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst contributes to the effective management and implementation of UN Women’s Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) portfolio in Armenia and the South Caucasus. The role provides substantive technical support for programme design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. The incumbent will lead policy dialogue, advocacy, capacity development, and inter-agency coordination to advance the WPS agenda. This position develops and maintains strategic partnerships with various stakeholders and contributes to resource mobilization and portfolio expansion, while also supporting regional WPS initiatives.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst will contribute technically to the development of programme strategies in regional WPS programming, including formulating proposals and identifying areas for intervention. They will provide substantive technical support for programme implementation and management, including developing annual workplans, leading activities, coordinating proposals, and monitoring partner reports. The role involves providing technical assistance and capacity development to project partners, developing knowledge products, and maintaining national partnerships. Additionally, the incumbent will monitor programme progress and finances, draft reports, and provide inputs for donor and UN Women reporting. They will also contribute to managing programme finances, building partnerships, resource mobilization strategies, and inter-agency coordination on WPS.
Work Experience
Requires at least 2 years (with Master's) or 4 years (with Bachelor's) of progressive experience in programme management within gender equality, women, peace and security, or related fields. Experience in designing, implementing, and reporting on complex programmes, applying Results-Based Management, managing partnerships, and facilitating events is essential. Experience in conflict-affected contexts or with UN/international organizations is desirable.
