Job Purpose
The Partnership Development and Coordination Specialist ASEAN is responsible for leading UN Women's engagement strategy with ASEAN, fostering strategic partnerships to advance gender equality and women's empowerment. The role supports the identification of new collaboration areas, enhances coherence across regional and country-level programming, and strengthens relationships with ASEAN institutions, Member States, and dialogue partners. This position plays a crucial role in operationalizing global and regional normative agreements and driving gender-transformative results in Southeast Asia.
Responsibilities
Lead UN Women's engagement strategy with ASEAN, including strategic positioning and identifying new entry points for partnership. Maintain critical relationships with the ASEAN Secretariat, institutions, and Member States to advance the gender equality agenda. Support the development and implementation of joint work programmes and identify opportunities for collaboration with ASEAN Dialogue Partners. Coordinate monitoring and reporting of the ASEAN portfolio, gathering information and preparing progress reports. Support resource mobilization strategies by identifying opportunities and contributing to proposal development. Facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration and partnerships, promoting knowledge exchange and best practices on engagement with regional platforms like ASEAN.
Work Experience
Requires at least 7 years of progressively responsible experience in programme development, coordination, resource mobilization, partnership building, and stakeholder engagement. Experience in women's empowerment/human rights is essential. Experience with intergovernmental processes in Asia-Pacific, particularly ASEAN, and facilitating multi-stakeholder collaboration is an asset. Policy analysis, strategic planning, advocacy, knowledge management, and institutional capacity development experience are required. Proficiency in computer software and web-based management systems is necessary.
