Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst provides crucial support to the effective management of UN Women programmes within the Syrian Arab Republic, with a specific focus on Women Peace and Security (WPS). This role contributes to the design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation of programmes, ensuring that gender equality commitments are met and translated into concrete results. By analyzing achieved results and applying appropriate systems and procedures, the Programme Analyst facilitates the successful delivery of UN Women's mandate. Collaboration with programme and operations teams, UN Women HQ, government officials, donors, and civil society is essential for successful programme implementation and achieving the organization's goals in promoting peace and security for women and girls.
Responsibilities
Contribute technically to the development of Women Peace and Security (WPS) programme strategies, including proposal design, formulation, and contextualization of documents. Provide technical support for WPS programme implementation, including annual work plans, budget monitoring, activity coordination, proposal reviews, and partner capacity building. Assist in monitoring programme progress, results, and indicators, and provide inputs for various reports. Support the management of WPS programme finances by monitoring budget implementation and expenditures. Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, and provide inputs for relevant documentation. Facilitate inter-agency coordination on WPS to ensure coherence with other partners in the Syrian Arab Republic. Support advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts by providing technical inputs for documents and coordinating events and knowledge products.
Work Experience
A minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Experience in Women Peace and Security (WPS), coordinating with government agencies/donors, and working in the Arab States region are desirable.
