UN Women Jordan is implementing the Surging Women’s Employment Flagship Initiative (SWEI) Programme, a key initiative aimed at increasing women's employment by 5% by 2030. This program focuses on innovative approaches across various sectors, including the Green, STEM, and Care Economies. The Private Sector Development Analyst will play a crucial role in managing and implementing this initiative, focusing on enhancing decent employment opportunities for women through gender-responsive workplaces and strategic private sector partnerships.

Job Purpose

The Private Sector Development Analyst is responsible for contributing to the effective management and implementation of UN Women's Surging Women’s Employment Flagship Initiative (SWEI) in Jordan. This role focuses on increasing decent employment opportunities for women by improving gender-responsive workplaces and fostering transformative partnerships with the private sector. The analyst will scale foundational work on Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) and align engagement with the SWEI's employment goals. This involves developing innovative partnership approaches with the private sector and supporting companies in achieving sustained increases in women's employment. The position contributes to programme design, formulation, implementation, and evaluation, ensuring UN Women's work with the private sector is effective and aligned with strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

Contribute technically to the development of programme strategies for private sector engagement. Provide substantive inputs to programme/project design, formulation, and identification of support areas. Offer technical support for the implementation and management of programmes and interventions related to private sector engagement and WEPs signatories, including workplan and budget inputs, leading activities, and coordinating proposal calls. Provide technical assistance and capacity development to partners to enhance women's economic empowerment and labor market participation, including coordinating activities and developing knowledge products. Monitor programme implementation and finances using results-based management tools, and draft reports on progress and outcomes. Provide technical inputs to programme management, including budget monitoring and financial reporting. Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, preparing relevant documentation and participating in donor meetings. Support inter-agency coordination to ensure coherence of UN Women programmes with other partners. Contribute to advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts by developing materials and organizing events.

Work Experience

A minimum of two years of progressive experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on gender and private sector programmes is essential. Experience providing advisory support to the private sector on women's economic empowerment is also required. Proficiency in computer and office software packages, including web-based management systems, is necessary. Experience with the UN or coordinating with government agencies/donors is desirable.
