UN Women Philippines supports critical agencies in aligning mandates with global standards for gender equality and women's empowerment. The role supports the joint programme Zero Hunger Accelerator (JP ZHA), funded by the Joint SDG Fund, aiming to strengthen inclusive, climate-resilient food systems through innovative financing and by addressing barriers faced by smallholder farmers and women-led enterprises.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to support UN Women's coordination and communications efforts within the Philippines, particularly for the joint programme Zero Hunger Accelerator (JP ZHA). The role will facilitate inter-agency and external partner coordination, contribute to the planning and rollout of communications and advocacy strategies, and develop strategic materials to enhance UN Women's visibility and positioning. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring coherence and synergy across various initiatives, tracking progress, and documenting lessons learned to improve effectiveness in advancing gender equality and women's economic empowerment.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide essential support for inter-agency and stakeholder coordination, including attending meetings, participating in collaborative processes, and tracking follow-up actions to ensure alignment and UN Women's effective contribution. Responsibilities include offering coordination support to external partners and consultants involved in JP ZHA and other UN Women initiatives, fostering coherence and collaboration. The role involves assisting in the planning, preparation, and execution of communications and advocacy strategies to maintain consistent messaging and visibility. Additionally, the consultant will develop briefs, reports, presentations, and visual materials to synthesize key insights and strategically position UN Women. Progress tracking of coordination and communications activities, documenting lessons learned, and recommending adjustments for enhanced effectiveness are also key duties.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of progressive work experience is required in inter-agency/stakeholder coordination and engagement, programme coordination, or communications and advocacy. Experience in gender equality and development issues within the Philippines context is essential. The role also requires experience in preparing analytical reports, policy briefs, and visual communication materials, as well as managing social media content. Familiarity with the UN system and inter-agency coordination processes is desirable.
