Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide substantive and technical support to UN Women Türkiye's advocacy, dialogue, and knowledge-generation initiatives. The role will focus on strengthening links between the women's movement in Türkiye and the global movement, facilitating CSO participation in international forums, and providing guidance on advocacy tools. The consultant will also support events related to gender backlash and anti-gender movements, promoting inclusive dialogue and evidence-based advocacy to advance gender equality and women's rights.
Responsibilities
The consultant will identify opportunities and conceptualize activities to strengthen the connection between the Turkish and global women's movements through learning exchanges and new networks. They will provide technical support for identifying CSOs and advocates to attend international events and identify networking tools for CSOs. The role involves offering guidance and technical support to Turkish civil society to join international platforms and prepare for meaningful participation in key regional and international forums. Additionally, the consultant will develop a training program and knowledge products on obtaining ECOSOC consultative status for CSOs and support the design, preparation, and moderation of advocacy events focused on gender backlash and anti-gender movements.
Work Experience
A minimum of 7 years of progressive professional experience in gender equality and/or women's empowerment is required. Experience with the international women's movement, gender equality mechanisms, and specifically on gender backlash is essential. Experience working with women's civil society organizations and in international networking and advocacy on gender equality and women's rights is desirable.
