Job Purpose
This role supports UN Women's efforts in Bolivia to strengthen democratic governance and promote greater participation and influence of women in public life. The Communications Officer will design, implement, and monitor communication strategies and actions to enhance the visibility of initiatives related to women's leadership and decision-making. The purpose is to ensure that communication efforts effectively contribute to UN Women's mandate of gender equality and women's empowerment by raising awareness, fostering dialogue, and supporting the achievement of key objectives in line with the UN Women Strategic Plan.
Responsibilities
The Communications Officer will develop and implement a communication strategy for the 'Women's Governance and Participation in Public Life' component. This includes creating and coordinating work plans, designing innovative communication products for various channels (digital and traditional), and updating media assets while ensuring privacy and cultural sensitivity. The role involves supporting UN Women's overall communication management by ensuring message coherence, coordinating with partner institutions, covering events, and promoting visibility through strategic media relations. Additionally, the officer will rigorously apply UN Women's communication policies, manage corporate image, and promote knowledge sharing. Continuous monitoring and evaluation of communication actions, including reporting on progress and making recommendations for improvement, are key responsibilities. The role also requires maintaining fluid communication with UN Women and counterpart institutions for effective coordination.
Work Experience
Requires four years of general work experience. At least two years of experience in communication with a gender and human rights perspective is essential. Two years of experience in developing and implementing communication strategies related to human rights or women's rights, and two years in designing communication products for traditional and digital media are also required. Evidence of developed or implemented strategies and produced materials is needed.
