This Programme Associate role supports the Women's Economic Empowerment Specialist, contributing to the effective administration and management of programmes focused on gender equality and women's empowerment within the Jordan Country Office.
Job Purpose
The Programme Associate provides essential administrative and logistical support for the formulation and management of UN Women programmes in Jordan, with a focus on women's economic empowerment. This role is crucial for ensuring the high quality and accuracy of work related to programme implementation, financial management, and reporting. By supporting the preparation of work plans, budgets, and financial monitoring, and facilitating logistical arrangements for meetings and missions, the Programme Associate directly contributes to the efficient delivery of UN Women's mandate to advance gender equality and women's empowerment through data-driven initiatives.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support across various programme functions. This includes assisting in the preparation of programme work plans, budgets, and proposals, and providing technical guidance on routine delivery and reporting for the women's economic empowerment portfolio. The role involves supporting financial management by creating projects in the Quantum system, monitoring budgets, processing payments, and managing cost-recovery bills. Additionally, the Associate undertakes logistical arrangements for meetings, workshops, and missions, prepares public information materials, and supports resource mobilization efforts by processing donor contributions. Facilitating knowledge building and sharing through administrative support for lessons learned and training is also a key duty.
Work Experience
Requires at least 6 years of progressively responsible experience in administration or programme management/support. Essential experience includes working with multiple office software packages (especially Excel), supporting a programme management team, collaborating with national and implementing partners, and utilizing a modern web-based ERP system (preferably Oracle Cloud).
