Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to enhance the efficiency and quality of recruitment processes within UN Women's East and Southern Africa Regional Office (ESARO). The consultant will provide crucial technical support in screening applications, developing longlists, assisting interview panels, and documenting proceedings. By ensuring adherence to UN Women's policies and recruitment standards, this role directly contributes to attracting and selecting qualified candidates, thereby supporting the organization's mission to advance gender equality and women's empowerment.
Responsibilities
Screen and longlist candidates by conducting initial eligibility checks against vacancy announcement criteria and assessing against required qualifications, experience, and competencies. Prepare objective and documented longlisting matrices and candidate assessment summaries, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and transparency. Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential recruitment records. Provide technical and administrative support during interviews by preparing documentation, participating as a note-taker, and capturing impartial interview notes. Consolidate panel evaluations and recommendations into interview reports. Perform other recruitment-related assignments as requested to ensure timely completion of processes, maintaining professionalism, objectivity, and confidentiality.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressive work experience in human resource administration is required. Proficiency in computer and office software packages (MS Word, Excel) and web-based management systems is essential. Experience with an ERP system like Oracle Cloud and prior experience in UN system HR administration are desirable.
