This Programme Associate role supports the project's implementation, working within the PNG Country Office to contribute to inclusive and gender-responsive governance systems.
Job Purpose
The Programme Associate provides crucial support to the Programme Team in developing and implementing effective UN Women programmes, focusing on the Women Make Change Project. This role contributes to research, financial management, and overall programme implementation, ensuring operational and programmatic activities align with UN Women regulations. The position requires close collaboration with country, regional, and headquarters personnel to resolve complex issues and facilitate information exchange, ultimately supporting increased women's participation in governance.
Responsibilities
The Programme Associate is responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and logistical support for programme formulation and management. This includes assisting with work plans, budgets, and proposals, and offering technical guidance on delivery and reporting. The role involves preparing for audits, reviewing programme data, and gathering information for documents. Financial management support includes creating projects in the Quantum system, monitoring budgets, processing payments, and assisting with cost-recovery. Additionally, the associate handles logistical arrangements for meetings and missions, manages travel, prepares briefing materials, and supports resource mobilization efforts by preparing agreements and processing donor information. The role also facilitates knowledge sharing and provides training to Programme Assistants.
Work Experience
A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in administration or programme management/support is required. Proficiency in computer office software and experience supporting a team are essential. Experience with a modern web-based ERP system, such as Oracle Cloud, is desirable.
