Job Purpose
This role supports the planning and implementation of communications and advocacy strategies for UN Women's Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) and Migration portfolio in the Asia-Pacific region. The objective is to increase the standing and awareness of UN Women among partners, media, and the public. The consultant will provide content, coordination, administrative, and digital communications support to enhance the visibility and measurable results of WEE initiatives, catalyzing further action and resources.
Responsibilities
The consultant will develop and execute communication plans, draft social media content, and create basic visual assets using tools like Canva and PowerPoint. Responsibilities include formatting presentations, newsletters, and reports, ensuring brand consistency, and supporting copyediting and proofreading. The role involves coordinating with designers and vendors, organizing digital assets, and tracking communication analytics. Additionally, the consultant will provide logistical and communications support for events, webinars, and workshops, assist in preparing event materials, and support post-event dissemination and feedback collection.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of professional experience in strategic communications, advocacy, online communications, or web publishing is required. Experience with UN Women's mandate areas, the UN system, or in a multicultural, web-based environment is advantageous. Experience in graphic design and online application development is also beneficial.
