The office supports national institutions and civil society through programs focused on gender-responsive governance, women's economic empowerment, and ending violence against women and girls (EVAWG). This internship supports the "Aamina" project, which strengthens services for survivors of violence and raises awareness through communication and advocacy campaigns.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support UN Women Morocco's advocacy efforts for gender equality and the fight against violence against women and girls. The intern will assist in organizing events, enhancing visibility of campaigns, drafting communication materials, and documenting project outcomes. The role provides an opportunity to gain practical experience in communications within a UN context, focusing on digital engagement and social media, while strengthening understanding of UN Women's mandate and programmatic approaches in gender equality and EVAWG.
Responsibilities
Support the organization and preparation of meetings and events. Enhance the visibility of UN Women's activities by drafting articles, taking photos, and suggesting social media content. Assist in drafting terms of reference for communication service providers and follow up on deliverables. Draft meeting minutes and contribute to reports and presentations. Translate communication and advocacy materials between French, Arabic, and English. Develop programme communication materials and adapt visuals for social media. Document good practices and success stories, particularly related to EVAWG work and activism campaigns. Support the collection and consolidation of programme results for reporting.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is required for this internship. However, familiarity with design software and technologies is desirable.
Skills
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in French, Arabic, and English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with design software (e.g., Canva, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop).
