Job Purpose
This Programme Analyst role supports UN Women's engagement in intergovernmental processes, with a specific focus on meaningful youth participation and intersectional inclusion. The position is crucial for collecting and analyzing evidence, innovative practices, and models from civil society actors and marginalized youth to inform global norm-setting. The role contributes to implementing key UN Women strategies, including the Push Forward Strategy and the UN Gender Equality Acceleration Plan, ensuring these frameworks are integrated into intergovernmental and human rights engagements.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst will provide partnership support for UN Women's intergovernmental engagement by monitoring and analyzing relevant processes (e.g., CSW, HLPF, UN Human Rights Mechanisms) to identify opportunities for inclusive participation and gender-responsive outcomes. Responsibilities include drafting analytical and advocacy materials, integrating marginalized youth and intersectional non-discrimination perspectives into discussions, and coordinating with UN Women offices. The role also supports engagement with UN human rights mechanisms, facilitates youth-led CSO participation in treaty body reviews, and advances youth and civil society engagement in decision-making spaces. Additionally, the incumbent will support the implementation of the Push Forward Strategy and GEAP priorities, focusing on feminist movements and LGBTIQ+ rights, and contribute to knowledge management, coordination, and reporting.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of progressive work experience in gender equality and multilateral spaces is required. Experience with the UN system, inter-agency coordination, and results-based programme planning and management is desirable. Proficiency in computer and office software, including spreadsheet and database packages, is also required.
