The United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence against Women (UN Trust Fund) is a global funding mechanism supporting civil society organizations in preventing and ending violence against women and girls. Job Purpose
This internship supports the UN Trust Fund's strategic foresight and demand analysis. The intern will conduct advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis of application data to identify emerging trends in violence against women and girls (VAWG) programming, particularly concerning conflict, climate shocks, technology-facilitated violence, and economic insecurity. The role involves exploring relationships between demand data and external indicators, developing analytical models, and analyzing historical trends to inform strategic decision-making and ecosystem learning. The intern will contribute to identifying future directions for VAWG initiatives and funding systems.
Responsibilities
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of 2025 Call for Proposals application data to identify emerging thematic trends in funding demand across regions, populations, and forms of violence. Examine trends related to conflict, displacement, climate shocks, shrinking civic space, legal reforms, technology-facilitated violence, and economic insecurity. Support the cleaning, coding, and structuring of quantitative and qualitative datasets. Explore relationships between UN Trust Fund demand data and external datasets/indices such as conflict trends, climate vulnerability, civic space, gender inequality, and violence prevalence. Support the development of analytical models to examine how macro-level shifts influence funding demand. Analyze historical Trust Fund application data to identify longer-term shifts in funding priorities, responses, and risks. Develop a draft analytical paper summarizing key findings and prepare presentation materials for leadership and donor engagement.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is required for this internship, but a strong interest in gender equality, feminist movements, and ending violence against women and girls is essential. Experience with quantitative analysis and statistical software is preferred.
Skills
Strong quantitative analysis skills, experience with statistical software (R, Stata, Python, or similar), ability to analyze large datasets, strong writing and presentation skills, ability to translate technical findings for non-technical audiences.
