This project aims to increase market access for women-owned businesses by improving gender-responsive procurement and data systems.
Job Purpose
The National Business Statistics Analyst will support the WE RISE Together project in Thailand by conducting a diagnostic assessment of data ecosystems for business statistics. This role is crucial for identifying challenges and opportunities in integrating gender, disability, and intersectionality into official business statistics. The analyst will help develop evidence-based recommendations to strengthen data governance, interoperability, and administrative processes, ultimately contributing to the advancement of women's economic empowerment and gender-responsive procurement.
Responsibilities
Conduct a desk review of national documentation related to business statistics, legal frameworks, and registration procedures. Map current business registration workflows and assess the capture of sex-disaggregated and disability-related data. Evaluate the interoperability and coordination across various systems (registry, tax, licensing, statistics, procurement). Contribute to stakeholder interviews with key national entities. Assess the feasibility of using available data for gender-responsive digital business platforms. Support the production of a structured overview of the business registry data model and validate findings through workshops. Identify gaps and propose practical options for strengthening data governance and administrative coordination. Draft an action plan with prioritized recommendations and contribute to technical sessions on business statistics and gender.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of progressive work experience in business statistics or administrative data ecosystems for producing business statistics. Experience in official statistics production is advantageous. Familiarity with Thailand's context, legal frameworks, and stakeholders related to women's economic empowerment is beneficial.
