Job Purpose
The Communications and Visibility Intern will support the UN Women Mozambique Communications and Visibility team in executing institutional communication activities. This includes developing audiovisual content, graphic design, preparing social media materials, and covering events. The intern will work under the supervision of the National Communications and Visibility Consultant, collaborating with Programme, Operations, and Regional Communications teams, as well as external partners. The role aims to strengthen the office's visibility, support gender-responsive narratives, and ensure communications are clear, accessible, creative, and aligned with UN Women's global standards.
Responsibilities
Design visual materials such as social media cards, banners, and infographics. Draft and adapt content for social media platforms, including captions and posts. Assist with scheduling and uploading digital content. Provide event coverage, including photography, videography, and collecting quotes. Support the development of communication materials like briefs and success stories. Assist in visibility and advocacy initiatives, including event preparation and logistical support. Contribute to knowledge management by organizing media files and drafting event summaries.
Work Experience
Demonstrated academic or practical experience in communications, public relations, multimedia production, or advocacy is required. Hands-on experience with social media platforms for content creation and management is essential. Experience in audiovisual production, including filming, photography, and video editing, is a strong advantage. Familiarity with design and editing tools like Canva, CapCut, or Adobe applications is beneficial.
