Job Purpose
The Partnerships and Advocacy Specialist provides technical support to the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women, focusing on enhancing partnerships, advocacy, resource mobilization, and reporting. This role is crucial for strengthening donor stewardship, improving institutional positioning, increasing visibility, and driving resource mobilization efforts. The specialist will contribute to developing strategic briefs, engagement plans, and tailored pitches to secure funding and foster collaborations. By supporting advocacy initiatives and external engagement, the role aims to advance the UN Trust Fund's mission to eliminate violence against women and girls globally, aligning with international policies and frameworks.
Responsibilities
The Partnerships and Advocacy Specialist will support the implementation of advocacy and partnership strategies through prospect research, content development, and stakeholder engagement. This includes preparing partnership propositions, investment cases, and visibility initiatives. The role involves monitoring advocacy activities and preparing analytical summaries to inform future positioning. Donor stewardship will be enhanced through the preparation of strategic briefs and follow-up materials. The specialist will also support the development of advocacy materials for key global policy moments and prepare briefing notes for senior leadership. Coordination of logistical and substantive support for advocacy initiatives, donor fora, and external engagements is required. Furthermore, the role will assist in the preparation and production of the UN Trust Fund's Annual Report and other institutional/donor reports, ensuring compelling narratives that demonstrate impact and value for money. The specialist will also contribute to knowledge translation by synthesizing programme evidence and emerging trends into external engagement products.
Work Experience
Requires at least five years of progressive experience in strategic partnerships, resource mobilization, advocacy, donor relations, external engagement, or strategic communications. Experience in fundraising, partnership development, and donor stewardship is essential. Prior experience in inter-governmental processes and in the area of ending violence against women is required. Experience developing external-facing communications, advocacy, or reporting products, and translating complex results into compelling narratives is highly desirable.
