Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide crucial coordination, strategic engagement, and programme implementation support for UN Women's Gaza portfolio. The role will focus on enhancing women's economic empowerment within the context of humanitarian response and early recovery. The consultant will work closely with UN sister agencies, humanitarian actors, partners, and the UN Women team, reporting to the Deputy Special Representative. The position involves contributing to policy dialogue, inter-agency processes, and ensuring gender equality priorities are integrated into the Gaza portfolio, while also providing technical guidance to a small team.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide substantive support for coordination and strategic engagement related to the Gaza portfolio, participating in technical forums and policy dialogues to integrate gender equality priorities. They will offer technical support for humanitarian coordination, facilitating collaboration among UN agencies and partners to ensure gender-responsive action. The role involves coordinating the planning and implementation of Gaza portfolio programmes, ensuring alignment with humanitarian priorities and corporate requirements, and overseeing administrative processes. Additionally, the consultant will provide technical input to Women's Economic Empowerment programming, focusing on design, implementation, and monitoring within the Gaza humanitarian response and early recovery context.
Work Experience
Requires at least 2 years of progressive experience in development/humanitarian programme implementation, coordination, monitoring, and evaluation. Experience in humanitarian coordination, livelihoods/employment initiatives, and computer/office software is essential. Experience in gender equality programming, especially Women's Economic Empowerment, inter-agency coordination, and partnership building is desirable.
