UN Women Brazil, under its 2024-2027 Strategic Note, prioritizes women's leadership and equal participation in governance. This consultancy supports an initiative to combat gender and race-based political violence, particularly in the digital sphere, by establishing multi-stakeholder "Situation Rooms" to monitor trends and inform policy.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide technical and operational support for the initiative "Response to Gender and Race Political Violence: Situation Rooms for Combating Digital Political Violence and Advocating for the Inter-American Model Law." The role will serve as the focal point for daily coordination, tracking deadlines, preparing meetings, consolidating products, and following up on agreed actions with partners. The purpose is to ensure the effective implementation of activities, foster institutional coordination, generate evidence, and contribute to recommendations for addressing political violence against women, especially in the digital space.
Responsibilities
The consultant will provide technical and operational support for the "Response to Gender and Race Political Violence" initiative. Key responsibilities include coordinating and facilitating "Situation Room" meetings (virtual/hybrid), preparing technical documents, agendas, and presentations. The role involves articulating and monitoring the participation of partner institutions and specialists, ensuring information flow and follow-up on agreed actions. Additionally, the consultant will support the production and systematization of evidence on political violence, including preparing internal summaries and external Situation Bulletins, and analyzing information from various sources to identify trends and emerging risks. The consultant will also contribute to an analytical final report with recommendations and support institutional articulation and strategic advocacy, including the organization of a National Seminar on Digital Political Violence.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in project coordination, technical support, or a similar role is required. Experience working with government institutions, civil society organizations, and international agencies on issues related to gender equality, political participation, human rights, or violence prevention is highly desirable. Experience in digital violence and policy advocacy is also beneficial.
