Job Purpose
The Project Field Coordinator is responsible for the technical direction and implementation of the UN Women Japan Supplementary Budget (JSB) project in Cabo Delgado and Nampula provinces. This involves ensuring the timely and cost-effective achievement of project outcomes and outputs, focusing on improving the resilience and safety of crisis-affected women and girls. The role supports enhanced access to emergency livelihood support and strengthens leadership capacity in emergency response, contributing to gender-responsive humanitarian preparedness and response efforts.
Responsibilities
Lead and coordinate the implementation of project activities at the provincial level, ensuring alignment with UN Women priorities and work plans. Oversee UN Women's interventions in gender equality, humanitarian response, recovery, and women's empowerment. Maintain regular communication with implementing partners, stakeholders, and consultants, providing technical guidance and operational support. Serve as the UN Women focal point for programme implementation, ensuring an integrated approach. Monitor project implementation, contribute to progress and financial reports, and document success stories and lessons learned. Coordinate with project partners, government institutions, local authorities, and civil society to enhance programme effectiveness and sustainability. Promote coordination and complementarity with other humanitarian and development initiatives.
Work Experience
Requires at least two years of experience at the national or provincial level in coordinating and managing complex programme interventions with government, civil society, and humanitarian/development partners. Experience in implementing, monitoring, and evaluating humanitarian and development programmes, with a focus on gender equality, women's empowerment, and humanitarian action, is essential. Experience in results-based management and partnership coordination is also required. Previous UN system experience is desirable.
