Organizational Context
UN Women's Strategy, Planning, Results and Effectiveness Division (SPRED) integrates corporate strategy and performance measurement. The Strategic Planning Unit (SPU) within SPRED manages Results-Based Management (RBM) and strategic planning, including policies and guidance for planning, monitoring, and reporting. This internship supports the SPU's work in these critical areas.
Job Purpose
This internship aims to support the rollout and implementation of UN Women's Planning, Monitoring, and Reporting (PMR) procedure and its associated training package. The intern will contribute to enhancing RBM and strategic planning processes across the organization. Key contributions include supporting the quality assurance of planning documents, facilitating training coordination, managing documentation, and assisting in the development of communication materials to promote RBM principles and UN Women's strategic plan.
Responsibilities
Assist in the rollout and implementation of the PMR training package, including session coordination, feedback consolidation, and content updates. Support Country, Regional, and Headquarters units in applying planning, monitoring, and reporting procedures by drafting communications, attending meetings, and tracking actions. Aid the SN Secretariat function by coordinating review processes, consolidating inputs, and documenting decisions. Develop and disseminate communication and learning materials to increase awareness of PMR policies and RBM. Maintain and update relevant intranet pages for PPG, Strategic Planning, and RBM.
Work Experience
No specific work experience is required for this internship. However, a proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask are beneficial.
Skills
Analytical and administrative skills, strong writing and communication, problem-solving, inclusive collaboration, stakeholder engagement, IT skills, familiarity with gender issues and the UN system are assets.
