Job Purpose
The Programme Specialist will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing UN Women's interventions under the TransformCare Global Initiative. This involves developing programme strategies, building partnerships, and mobilizing resources, particularly with European partners and EU institutions. The role will provide technical, capacity-building, and policy support to enhance strategic partnerships and resource mobilization for women's economic empowerment. The specialist will ensure successful programme implementation, coordinate with global and regional teams, and contribute to policy dialogues and knowledge management related to the care agenda.
Responsibilities
The Programme Specialist will design and develop programme strategies for the care agenda, formulating proposals and initiatives, especially those supported by European partners. Responsibilities include developing strategies that integrate care with economic empowerment, climate, and social justice, and drafting inputs for strategy documents. The role involves building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies, analyzing donor landscapes, and preparing substantive briefs. The specialist will manage the technical implementation of the TransformCare Initiative, ensuring synergies with EU institutions and BLO teams, and overseeing partner reports. Additionally, the role entails managing technical assistance and capacity development for partners, providing policy support to country and regional offices, and managing programme monitoring, reporting, and budget. Advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts related to the care agenda are also key duties, including developing advocacy strategies and knowledge products.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience at national or international levels in designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating development programmes/projects related to women's economic empowerment and care is required. Technical experience in the area of care, capacity building, and policy support is essential. Experience with computer software, web-based management systems, and coordinating with government agencies/donors is necessary. UN system experience is desirable.
