Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to provide high-quality analytical, technical, and coordination support to UN Women India's engagement with the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). The consultant will contribute to developing analytical products and knowledge resources to enhance the understanding of gender equality trends and their implications for India's development trajectory, supporting evidence-based policymaking.
Responsibilities
Develop analytical gender bulletins on SDG-NIF Gender Indicators and Gender and Macroeconomic indicators, including data analysis, synthesis, and drafting content. Conduct detailed gender analysis of MoSPI's 'Women and Men in India' publication and provide technical inputs for the 'Elderly in India' publication, integrating gender perspectives. Support the planning and implementation of national dissemination workshops. Coordinate consultations, facilitate review meetings, and manage repositories of datasets and analytical outputs. Ensure all publications are gender-responsive, accessible, and aligned with statistical standards.
Work Experience
Requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in gender statistics, socio-economic analysis, public policy research, or official statistics. Demonstrated experience with large-scale national datasets and preparing analytical reports or publications is essential. Familiarity with India's statistical system and UN agencies is desirable.
