Organizational Context
UN Women Bangladesh supports the government in advancing gender equality and women's human rights, aligning with the UNSDCF and its Strategic Note (2022-2027). The country office focuses on strengthening national gender mainstreaming, preventing violence, promoting economic empowerment, and resilience. This consultancy supports the Bangladesh Country Office (BCO) in deepening its leadership bench through an annual staff survey and adaptive leadership capacity development, including coaching sessions for staff.
Job Purpose
The purpose of this consultancy is to support the UN Women Bangladesh Country Office (BCO) in enhancing organizational performance and staff resourcefulness. The consultant will lead the design, implementation, and analysis of the annual staff survey, applying principles of Cognitive Coaching and Adaptive Leadership. This initiative aims to identify strengths and areas for improvement within the BCO, fostering a respectful workplace and preventing discrimination. By providing actionable data and recommendations, the role will enable individuals and teams to establish and sustain effective systems, thereby increasing overall performance and resourcefulness across the office. The consultant will also deliver adaptive leadership and cognitive coaching sessions to deepen the leadership bench, ensuring learning is applied both individually and collectively, aligning with UN Women’s social norm change strategy.
Responsibilities
The International Consultant will be responsible for several key tasks to enhance the UN Women Bangladesh Country Office's (BCO) organizational effectiveness. This includes preparing and rolling out the annual BCO Staff Survey for 2027, ensuring it is inclusive and designed based on Cognitive Coaching and Adaptive Leadership principles to measure perceived resourcefulness across five energy sources: Consciousness, Efficacy, Flexibility, Craftsmanship, and Interdependence. The consultant will analyze the survey data, building on previous findings, and prepare a comprehensive personnel/staff survey report, including key findings and actionable recommendations for the office, to be shared with all staff. Furthermore, the consultant will facilitate a session with Senior Leaders to discuss survey findings and implications. A crucial responsibility involves conducting one online refresher workshop on Adaptive Leadership and Cognitive Coaching. Additionally, the consultant will deliver at least two coaching sessions for thematic units in 2027, both in Dhaka and Cox’s Bazar, to help teams establish and sustain systems that result in increased performance and resourcefulness based on the survey findings. All activities must adhere to human rights-based approaches, cultural diversity, social inclusion, gender sensitivity, and confidentiality.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in coaching, mentoring, and people development is required. Candidates must possess demonstrated knowledge and experience in Cognitive Coaching and Adaptive Leadership, along with experience in change management. Prior work experience with UN agencies is considered a significant advantage.
