This role supports the ACT to End Violence against Women and Girls Programme, a European Union-funded initiative aimed at strengthening women's rights movements and advocacy efforts.
Job Purpose
The Programme Management Specialist supports the management, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the ACT Programme, a global initiative funded by the European Union to combat violence against women and girls. The role involves managing human and financial resources, providing programme support for global and regional components, and ensuring oversight, monitoring, and technical assistance. The specialist will monitor progress against results frameworks, manage financial situations to meet targets, and provide technical guidance and capacity-building to programme personnel to ensure successful delivery of the programme's objectives.
Responsibilities
Oversee the management and implementation of the global and regional ACT programme, assessing work plans, budgets, and quality control. Provide technical support on Results-Based Management and monitor partner reports. Coordinate global activities, including knowledge products and advocacy events. Build stakeholder engagement by nurturing relationships with partners, providing technical assistance, and facilitating capacity building. Serve as a programme focal point and coordinate various meetings, including Steering Committee and inter-initiative coordination. Oversee programme monitoring and reporting, establishing mechanisms for progress tracking and learning. Gather information, prepare technical reports, and support audits. Manage programme finances, monitor budget implementation, and ensure effective information flow. Support the development of sustainability plans, partnerships, and resource mobilization strategies, including donor engagement and communication materials.
Work Experience
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in programme/project management, implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building. Experience liaising with governments, donors, and civil society organizations internationally is essential. Experience in setting priorities, budgets, work plans, and programme development is also required. Experience with UN Women programme management systems (PGAMs, PRISM, Quantum) is necessary.
