The office works to enhance women's leadership in peace processes and humanitarian action across the region, including in Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Yemen.
Job Purpose
The Programme Analyst, Women, Peace, Security, and Humanitarian Action (WPSHA) will provide substantive support for the planning, implementation, and management of UN Women's regional WPS and Humanitarian Action (HA) programmes. This role is crucial for ensuring successful programme delivery by collaborating with country offices, HQ staff, donors, and civil society, and contributing to UN Women's mandate of promoting gender equality and women's empowerment in peace and security, and humanitarian response.
Responsibilities
The Programme Analyst will contribute technically to the development of WPSHA programme strategies, including designing and formulating proposals. They will provide technical support for the implementation and management of Germany and Japan-funded programmes, leading activities, coordinating proposals, and monitoring partner reports. The role involves providing technical assistance and capacity development to partners, developing knowledge products, and maintaining relationships. Monitoring programme progress, results, and finances using RBM tools, and drafting reports are key. The analyst will also contribute to managing programme finances, building partnerships, supporting resource mobilization, and facilitating inter-agency coordination on Gender in Humanitarian Action. Additionally, they will support advocacy, knowledge building, and communication efforts related to the WPSHA portfolio.
Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of progressive work experience in development programme/project implementation, coordination, monitoring, evaluation, donor reporting, and capacity building is required. Experience in Women Peace and Security and Gender in Humanitarian Action is desirable. Proficiency in computer and office software, including spreadsheet and database packages, is essential. Experience with ERP systems and in the Arab States region is a plus.
