This consultancy focuses on modernizing Vocational Education and Training (VET) curricula to align with green economy principles, supporting Moldova's commitments to sustainable development and EU approximation. The role is crucial for equipping the workforce with skills for emerging green jobs.
Job Purpose
This consultancy aims to integrate green economy principles into Moldova's Vocational Education and Training (VET) system. The expert will revise existing curricula, develop new modules, and provide guidance on embedding sustainability across vocational profiles. A key objective is to enhance the capacity of VET teachers to effectively deliver content related to green jobs and sustainable practices, thereby preparing students for the evolving economic landscape and contributing to national development goals.
Responsibilities
The National Expert will conduct a situational analysis of green economy content in selected VET institutions and identify integration gaps. Based on findings, a Green Economy Curriculum Integration Framework will be developed, defining green competencies and module structures. The expert will then revise VET curricula in collaboration with national authorities, ensuring updated content, learning outcomes, and teaching methods. Finally, a comprehensive teacher training program will be designed and delivered, including training packages and workshops, to equip educators with the skills to implement the revised curricula effectively and support the sustainable integration of green economy concepts.
Work Experience
A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in green economy, sustainable development, or environmental policy, combined with education or workforce development engagement, is required. Experience in VET curriculum development or revision is essential. Prior experience in designing and delivering training for educators on green topics, engaging with VET institutions or ministries, and producing technical reports in Romanian is advantageous.
Skills
In-depth knowledge of green economy principles and sustainable development frameworks. Understanding of VET systems and curriculum design methodologies. Ability to translate green concepts into practical curricula. Experience in adult learning and teacher training. Strong analytical and writing skills. Familiarity with the Moldovan VET system is an advantage.
